Government departments within major cities manage vast amounts of geospatial data. While each department may have its own specific information requirements, easy access to centralized data can improve enterprise-wide workflows. Brasov City Hall recognized the need to develop an integrated IT system to modernize public services and administration across all departments. The goal was to improve governmental transparency by making more data available internally and externally. This data included geospatial information, which serves as a valuable tool for infrastructure management. As most of the city’s municipal workflows were managed with paper maps, a gradual shift to IT automation would significantly improve the organization, management, and maintenance of geospatial data. Brasov wanted a complete geospatial solution to manage and integrate data from 36 departments as well as 10 subordinated public services.
